Tomorrow (A Poem for the End of 2012)

It’s just another day

Rocks aren’t falling from space
The sun hasn't flared up
The saucers haven’t come
Nobody’s been enslaved,
Or turned to ash
Or been raptured.
The world is still turning

It’s just another day.

The world isn’t burning
No great winds are blowing
Fire hasn't exploded from the ground
No floodgates opened up
The world is still turning

It’s just another day

No stampede of zombies
No diseases floating in the air
No waves or quakes have come
The world is still turning

It’s just another day

The world is still floating
The world is still turning
We’re still walking.

It’s just another day

The end of the world comes
Only every Monday.

I just wrote this this morning because we all know the world isn't ending today.
